How do I order one?

Firstly, I’ll need you to send as many pictures of the subject to my messenger link, this can be found in the bottom right by clicking on that blue button! 
So the most important thing I need is a good quality picture to work from, without that, my job is impossible! What’s good quality? The main things that need to be avoided are blurry pictures taken in poor lighting! You may think I’m being fussy, but if I can’t see that small detail on the picture I can’t add it to the portrait!
So I ask with all portraits please send as many pictures of the subject as possible. 
Once we agree on the picture used, you can also ask me any further questions and I’ll answer them for you! And it’s as simple as that!

What size are they?

These oval log slices range depending on how high up the tree they where taken from, some are more oval than others also! It’s very hard to give dimensions on such a natural product however they are always similar size to an A3 piece of paper! If you have an exact size that you need your slice to be, I can try my hardest to source one for you, if not they are picked entirely on my advanced knowledge of what shape slice your portrait will look the best on!

How are they made?

Firstly I take a rustic round log slice from a basswood/ lime tree, and sand it smooth. Once smooth, I sketch the picture onto the log slice vaguely, aiming to just get a rough idea of where the main focal points are. When sketched, I begin a method known as pyrography or wood burning (depending what side of the pond you are based!) Pyrography is a patient game, some pieces take hours, some pieces taking multiple sittings spread across days! The art form is a very unique way of burning into the timber using a pyrography pen, the pen itself has various heat settings, tips, and easily explained is a super cool soldering iron! Once burnt they are coated in a natural tung oil that preserves the burn and enhances its orange and brown details! If you’d like one weathered for outside please ask, this is possible also!
